Hospice is helped by Lions auction

WELL over £2,000 was raised by Bognor Regis Lions Club at its third charity ball and auction.

The proceeds from the event – which totalled some £2,300 – are again being given to St Wilfrid’s Hospice

About 66 people attended the occasion at the Beachcroft Hotel in Felpham. Some had travelled from as far as Essex.

Lion vice-president David Oldland said he was pleased with the success of the evening and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

He thanked the hotel for its help in staging the night as well as the businesses who had donated lots for the auction.

They included a special print from Sherree Valentine Daines, of Whitewall Galleries, in Chichester.

Donations came from House of Fraser and Zetasoft as well among others. Companies and individuals also helped with the raffle prizes.

The evening featured a welcome drink and a three-course meal during which the entertainment started.

The guests enjoyed the singing of Ian James who performed songs from Cabaret, Michael Buble and the famous Rat Pack singers.

Guests had the chance to dance to the hotel’s resident disco, Voices in the Dark, as the evening ended.
