A HOLLYWOOD voice coach who has worked with Elijah Wood on The Lord of the Rings and Daniel Craig as James Bond will be speaking at the University of Chichester this week.

Dialect tutor Roisin Carty will be talking about her experiences of training some of the film industry’s most successful actors on a number of the highest-grossing blockbusters of all time at the institution on Friday February 5.

Jonathan Rice, programme co-ordinator for acting for film at the University, said: “Roisin has worked as a dialect coach on films such as the Lord of The Rings Trilogy, The Hobbit, Casino Royale, Troy, and Into The Storm, to name but a few.

“Her work has taken her around the world working with film directors such as Peter Jackson and Tim Burton - this will be a fascinating insight into the film-making process.

“This event will be in an interview style, so if anyone has a question they would like to put to Roisin, please let us know in advance.”

The talk, which starts at 3.15pm, is free for members of the public as well as students and staff, and is to be held in the institution’s Mitre lecture theatre at its Bishop Otter campus, College Lane, Chichester, PO19 6PE.

Spaces are limited and requests for tickets – as well as any questions for Ms Carty – should be emailed in advance to Jonathan Rice at j.rice@chi.ac.uk
