Holidaymaker arrested after alleged assault at Butlin’s

A man was arrested after police were called to Butlin’s in Bognor Regis.

The 39-year-old male from Essex was taken away from the holiday resort after reports a paramedic had been assaulted.

He was being questioned about an alleged assault and criminal damage after an incident which lasted nearly six hours.

The ambulance worker had been trying to treat a man in a holiday flat about 3.10am this morning (Tuesday, February 14).

Police officers arrived to find another holidaymaker had barricaded himself in his flat and was throwing objects out of the windows.

The paramedic received minor injuries during the assault.

No-one else was believed to have suffered any injuries.
