Help needed to solve series of Bognor Regis burglaries

Police investigating a series of burglaries in Bognor Regis have appealed for help from the public.

Since January 1, six burglaries have taken place which have resulted in several arrests.

Four local men have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary have been bailed pending further enquiries. Another man has been arrested on suspicion of attempt burglary and bailed pending further enquiries.

And two men have been arrested and charged with going equipped.

Detectives are still seeking another man in relation to the burglaries.

He is described as white, about 6ft, 25 to 35-years-old, with short blond hair, blue eyes and an Eastern European accent.

He has been seen wearing a cream coloured jacket with a kangaroo-style pouch pocket and cream trousers.

All the burglaries have taken place during the daytime in both houses and flats in Servite Close and Annadale Avenue.

Small electrical items, aftershave and clothing has been stolen. In some cases a holdall has been stolen from the premises to carry items away.

Detective Sergeant Michelle Auger, of West Sussex priority crime team, said: “Detectives continue to investigate these burglaries and are keen to hear from anyone who may have information which may help us to end these burglaries.

“In these burglaries the offenders have generally entered the property through the front door. I would urge residents to make sure that their properties are secured during the day, ensuring you dead lock the front door.”

So far this year burglaries have taken place in Nyewood Lane on January 6, Kenilworth Road between January 3 and 18, Highlands Avenue on January 12, Southdown Road on January 15, Sevite Close on January 18 and Annadale Avenue on January 24.
