FREE courses are available for Bognor Regis residents with diabetes and heart disease.
The first of the sessions, lasting ten weeks, will begin next Thursday (May 9) for diabetics.
The course will use cognitive behaviour therapy to promote coping skills and strategies for those with the type 1 or 2 condition.
The healthy mind and healthy disease course will start on July 19 for ten weeks and use the therapy for people with cognitive heart disease. Patients can refer themselves on to the courses by calling 01243 812357.
They are being run by the Sussex Community NHS Trust and the three clinical commissioning groups which control most of the health service’s primary care work.
Sara Pickford, the trust’s deputy head of wellbeing services, said: “These courses really do make a difference for patients with ongoing health conditions who feel anxious or depressed. We have had very positive feedback from previous courses.”
