A DRUG and alcohol service will receive £5,000 towards a cafe in Bognor Regis.
Arun Exact has been given the boost from West Sussex County Council for equipment to help addicts recover.
The service wants to set up a “recovery community” café in town centre using an already-obtained building.
Its users will be able to meet in safe and comfortable surroundings with like-minded people.
In addition, the project hopes to offer them a range of life skills, such as cooking on a budget, and improved literacy and numeracy skills.
Arun Exact bid for the money from the council’s social enterprise fund. Cllr Michael Brown, in charge of the council’s finance and resources, said the cafe was an innovative part of a much larger project to help recovering addicts regain links with their communities.
