Brian Keates was nominated for a Good Neighbour Award for the second year running, on behalf of the residents at Leaholme for his caring nature.

According to residents, Brian is always on hand to offer support and help, whether it be changing lightbulbs or organising community BBQs. Brian has also been commended for his dedication to making the roads in the area safer, petitioning for crossings to be put in place.

Brian received his award at the annual event hosted by housing and care provider Places for People, which celebrates the commitment and positive impact that residents can have on their local communities.

Marion Doherty from Aldwick also received an award for easing the burden for her neighbours. Marion gets up early every day to collect and deliver everyone’s newspapers and goes shopping for her neighbours when they are unwell.
