DISTINGUISHED gentleman rode into Bognor Regis – all in the name of a good cause.
Forget white horses, the chosen modes of transport were a whole host of classic, custom and modern motorbikes and scooters when the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride stopped for a breather at the pier on September 27.
The event, which started in 2012, has seen riders from across the globe take part to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for prostate cancer research.
Honorary chap for the day Simon Fisher, of Nyetimber Lane, said: “It has been a lot of fun joining in.
“Riders take a real sense of pride in their bikes and there is something special about seeing this many bikes in one place, especially when it is all for a good cause.”
The abundance of bikes created quite a stir among those enjoying a walk along the front too.
“It is not really what you would expect to see on a Sunday morning,” said Val Higgins, of Chichester Road.
“But it is brilliant. It is a good way to attract attention and I hope they collect plenty of money for the cause.”
This year, there are some 258 rides across 57 countries.
