A BIT of friendly competition marked the handing over of a cash boost for a Bersted surgery.

The Friends of Bersted Green Surgery presented their latest cheque for £1,500 at a special event.

The group, which tirelessly fundraise for the cause collected the money through a range of activities over the last 12 months.

Following the cheque presentation, a plaque dedicated to Sam Franks and Phyllis Wilbraham was also presented.

This was followed by a game of skittles, with the doctors beating the friends.

The next bazaar sale in aid of the surgery will take place in November.
