FREE on-street parking in Bognor Regis is to be considered by councillors next year.
The matter is among the future topics to be discussed at a meeting of the highways and transport sub-group of the joint western Arun area committee.
The sub-group meets in private. Its minutes are reported to the committee for its public meetings.
As the Observer reported, county councillors decided last month to halt a planned 17 per cent hike in charges for parking on roads such as Sudley Road and Marine Drive West.
Members of the county council’s environmental and community services select committee decided they needed more financial facts before they agreed to the proposed increase.
Committee chairman Cllr Graham Tyler said later: “Parking is an emotive subject, and with different circumstances in each location, the best course of action is to hold fire and wait for a second report.”
