AFRICAN children are sporting football tops, thanks to a Bognor Regis woman.
Jayne Williamson rallied friends and family to collect about 125 secondhand shirts and tracksuits to send to the youngsters in Uganda.
She passed on the clothing, which included tops from Pagham FC, through the African Revival charity.
She said the idea arose after she saw a set of football kits at a jumble sale.
“No-one was interested so I took them not really knowing what I was going to do with them,” she said.
“But I didn’t want the rag and bone man to have them.”
She enlisted the help of former Wales goalie Paul Jones as well as Daren Terry, of Lotus Styling, to collect more and more shirts.
