FLOODING will be the topic of a special meeting in Yapton next week.
The Arun West branch of the U3A will be hosting the session to mark the first anniversary of the floods which brought havoc to the Bognor Regis area.
Hundreds of households were affected by the devastating rainfall. Those whose lives were most disrupted suffered months of upheaval and repair work.
Vicky Griffin, of the Arun West University of the Third Age, said: “The meeting is called ‘The Floods– One Year On, what we have done and what we are doing’.
“We hope it will be of interest to a lot of people.”
The meeting will take place from 2pm on Wednesday at Yapton and Ford Village Hall on Main Road, Yapton.
It will feature at least four speakers followed by a Q&A.
West Sussex County Council and Arun District Council will each provide one of the speakers.
Another will come from the Middleton-on-Sea Residents’ Association.
Hilary Flynn, the constituency manager for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton MP Nick Gibb, will add his perspective to the disaster.
Non-members are welcome for a £2 entry fee.
