OUTDOOR fitness has been given the green light in Felpham.
Arun District Council’s development and control committee agreed to allow land at Rookery Farm, Flansham Lane, to be used for private outdoor fitness training.
Planning officer Dan Vick told the meeting it was a change of use for the land previously used to grow timber for bio-mass.
“The change of use has already to some extend taken place and we have had a complaint form a property to the south,” he said.
Mr Vick added complaints had been about noise, which he believed could be the instructor shouting as people made their way through the assault course.
There were also objections from Felpham Parish Council which raised concerns about access and increased noise to local residents.
Conditions mean the business will only be able to open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10am until 4pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
The site includes an area of fixed equipment made from timber or metal poles, with the highest item being a scaffold frame at 4.5 metres high.
