Lager cans litter path between Hunston and North Mundham

LAGER cans have been ‘strewn’ along a picturesque footpath between Hunston and North Mundham, disgusting residents.

Stuart Solliss, who lives in Hunston, has frequently picked up litter from the path, but said this new littering was the ‘most-concentrated’ yet.

“The footpath always seems to have beer cans strewn around,” he said and added the sight of the numerous cans of lager he found at the end of January ‘disgusted’ him.

He added he did not know who was to blame for the littering, and said the footpath was very well-used: “It’s just awful with kids walking there on the way to school,” he added.

He added small amounts of littering has happened there before, and had needed to be cleaned up by the district council.

In response to the news of the fresh littering, a council spokeswoman said: “We routinely carry out litter picks of footpaths and we also respond to reported incidents.

She added that following the news of this latest incident a team had been sent to deal with the problem.

She added if anyone has any other sightings or information about littering in the area, they should get in touch with the council on 01243 785166.
