Heavy rain and winds have hit the Chichester area overnight, causing flooding chaos for motorists on the A27.
Drivers heading eastbound faced delays of up to one hour this morning (Tuesday, December 13).
Tailbacks stretched for up to seven miles as a result of the flooding, which reduced the dual carriageway to one lane.
Most of the city’s bypass was affected, from the Fishbourne roundabout to the A259 Bognor Road roundabout.
In Selsey the stormy weather caused waves to breach the sea wall, leaving debris strewn across parts of the peninsula.
