Sixth form students are celebrating at Felpham Community College following another good year of summer results.

Overall, students achieved 98 per cent A* - E grades, with 43% at A*- B. In the lower sixth, there was further improvement this year with students achieving the college’s highest ever pass rate at AS level. The large sixth form, ably supported by their specialist teachers and the college governors, have been rewarded for their hard work and commitment.

There were good results across the whole curriculum with particular strength in English Language and Mathematics this year.

Additionally, Business Studies achieved very impressive A level results with 70% A* - B grades, and there were also particularly good results this year in Photography, History and Media Studies. Vocational subjects did extremely well with a large number of students achieving the highest Distinction level.

BTEC Business Studies, BTEC Health & Social Care and BTEC IT all achieved their best ever results in 2013.

Vishra Patel: A* in Biology, A* in Mathematics, A in Chemistry

Harry Riseborough: A* in Business Studies, A in Mathematics, B in Psychology

Daniel Stayte: A* in Mathematics, B in Psychology, B in Law

Michael Wake: B in Mathematics, double Distinction star in BTEC IT

Headteacher, Mark Anstiss, said: “Once again we are very pleased with the results from our year 13 and year 12 students.

The large sixth form at Felpham is able to maintain a diverse curriculum and all areas are now strong, and able to produce excellent results in both A levels and BTECs.

“Improvements in results at AS show that that the college has another excellent cohort of students coming through into the upper sixth. Well done to all our students and very best wishes for the future.”
