Five-year-old pupils Harrison Leslie and Michael Collins collected a mass of items on behalf of their Felpham school.

The children from Bishop Tufnell CofE Infant School received the equipment from their MP Nick Gibb.

He handed it over on behalf of Tesco as part of this year’s successful Schools and Clubs scheme.

Shoppers receive vouchers when they buy goods from the retailer during ten weeks.

These vouchers enable schools to use a catalogue to buy goods they want for their children.

Bishop Tufnell Infants chose skipping ropes, small balls, recorders, hand puppets, a torch and equipment on which to make short recordings.

Steve Constable, store manager at Bognor Regis Tesco, said: “Tesco for Schools and Clubs is a scheme which my team are proud to be part of.

“We are really pleased Nick Gibb MP presented the products, a result of thousands of vouchers collected by our customers.”
