A WORK of art will greet visitors to a Bognor Regis school.

The piece by Lauri Hopkins, called Acrylic on Wood, has been constructed using remains of parquet flooring salvaged from the old hall of the Bognor Regis Community College and it was sponsored by pupils and staff at the Bognor Regis Grammar School from 1958 to 1967.

Lauri, 27, said: “I have really enjoyed the whole process. I initially came into the school to do some workshops with students and it progressed from there.

“I wanted to use the flooring from the old school as I thought it represented the transition from old to new. I hope I have been able to maintain a sense of continuity of old to new.”
