BRITISH boxing champion Hannah Beharry put Westergate Community School pupils through their paces.
The serial gold medal winner treated the Year 7 students to a fitness and boxing lesson.
PE teacher Glyn Martin said: “We were delighted to welcome Hannah to our school and to give our students the opportunity to be motivated by a mentor with such passion for sport and fitness.”
The session marked the start of the ten-week Sky Sports: Living for Sport programme which will be led by the school’s Year Ten sports leaders.
Its focus will be to inspire the Year 7 students, aged 11 and 12, to boost their confidence in sport and try new challenges.
They had the chance to do that in Hannah’s session. An increasingly energetic warm-up gave way to some basic boxing moves. It finished with taxing team-building and sport-based problem solving tests.
