A NEW boat could be seen along Felpham seafront.

The Felpham Falcon has been designed by children at Bishop Tufnell C of E Junior School.

The vessel was created by Class 5JB for a Felpham Parish Council competition.

They have won £350 for a party, new books and play equipment.

Parish council neighbourhood plan chairman Glenn Powell said: “This design was both exciting and practicable and showed a great deal of thought. The concept of providing facilities for children designed by children is one the parish council embraces.

“This winning entry could one day be incorporated in one of the parks or on the seafront.”

The Felpham Falcon was named by Daniel Nagle, nine. Features such as binoculars to look out to sea came from Elizabeth Mersey, also nine.

Elizabeth said: “We thought a boat was a good idea because we are close to the sea.”

Votes for the boat, one of three school entries, were cast at a display about the draft neighbourhood plan.
