AN SOS squad was called into action at a Bognor Regis holiday club.
The Save Our Summer experts were summoned by the members of the club at the town’s Opengate church. They wanted to foil the dastardly deeds of Dr Freeze and the Evil Penguins.
Church administrator Julie Passmore said the protagonists wanted to take the town to war.
Dr Freeze and his accomplice, Dr Horrible, planned to stop time on December 24 and steal summer so the temperature dropped to below freezing with the aid of his mega Freeze Ray.
“All summer holidays will be cancelled and ice creams and ice lollies will be replaced by veggie pops and sprout lollies,” she said
“Dr Freeze has hidden his Freeze Ray in the town somewhere and we must find it to stop his frost-bitten fingers from doing his dastardly work.”
The plot was written by the pastor of Victoria Drive church, the Rev Graham Banks. He joined with Jess Evitts, the church’s youth pastor, and a group of volunteers to take the acting parts.
More than 160 children attended the club and enjoyed craft activities as well as the stage-led games and sketches.
A barbecue for 250 ended the week.
