DOROTHY Porter reached her 100th birthday in Bognor Regis and said: “I’ll have to see what the next hundred years bring.”
Mrs Porter spent her milestone at a lunch with her family. She then enjoyed a party with about 35 family and friends last weekend.
“I don’t think about my age. And I’m lucky. I’ve got a lovely family who do what they can for me,” she said.
Mrs Porter stills cooks her meals at her home in Harfield Court in Lyon Street. She was born in Hellingly, East Sussex. She lived in Bognor in her 20s when she met policeman Thomas Porter.
They married at South Bersted Church in 1929 and moved around West Sussex before returning in 1960.
She has three surviving daughters, ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and spent many happy years working part-time in The China Rooms in The Arcade.
