Cyclist assaulted in Bognor Regis alleyway

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an assault after a man was attacked in Bognor Regis.

The victim, who is in his early 30s, was riding a bicycle along the alley way that runs between Hotham Park and Lyon Street when the violence took place at about 11.20pm on August 12.

In the incident the victim was the subject of racial abuse by two people and then assaulted receiving a cut to his lower abdomen which required hospital treatment.

The two suspects are described as a white man and woman only at this time.

Detective Constable Gavin Percival said: “We are keen to establish the identity of those responsible for this assault and abuse, and we ask anyone who may have witnessed it to contact us via 101 quoting serial 1840 of 12/8.

“Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
