TWO roads in North Bersted closed by police have reopened.

Rowan Way and North Bersted Street are open to traffic today (May 16).

The routes had been closed by Sussex Police to allow officers to carry out investigations into the death 20-year-old Charlie Hancock, of Nyetimber Lane.

The police cordons had been in place since the force received a report of a hit-and-run incident in Rowan Way just after 10pm on Monday (May 13).

Charlie was taken to St Richard’s in Chichester where he sadly died in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Detectives investigating his death have appealed for information, and would like friends of Charlie’s who saw him in the lead up to his death to get in touch.

Anyone with information should contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operation Southwick.
