Around £1,500 worth of cigarettes stolen were stolen from a Bognor shop on Monday, police have confirmed.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man officers would like to speak to in connection with the incident at a Co-op store in Hawthorn Road at around 2.30pm.

Police said the suspect, a white man wearing a navy coat and blue jeans, walked in to the shop before reportedly reaching over the counter and taking a large bag full of 200 pack cartons before walking out.

PC James Cowen said: “Do you recognise this man pictured or know where he is? It’s thought he could really help our investigation.

“Perhaps you were in the area at the time and saw someone acting suspiciously near the shop. If you have any information about the burglary then please get in touch.”
