Police hunt man after 90-year-old's purse stolen

A 90-year-old woman had her purse stolen outside a Bognor supermarket this morning (Monday February 20).

Police said the pensioner was walking across the car park at Morrisons, in Bedford Street, at about 11am when a man put his hand into her handbag.

Her purse containing her bus pass and some cash was taken.

The man then made off across the car park and into London Road where he was lost from view in the crowds, officers added.

He is described as white, of slim build and about 19 or 20. He was wearing a grey and black two tone coat, black trousers and black trainers.

PC Dan Bridger said; “The victim was unhurt and I assisted her in re-ordering her bus pass. If you saw what happened or think you know who this man is, please contact us via [email protected] quoting serial 452 of 20/02.
