A THIEF has ruined the trips of Felpham school pupils to Bear Cave.

The heartless crook stole a tent from the grounds of Downview Primary School between last Saturday midday and Monday morning.

This means visits to the ‘cave’ by many of the school’s youngest children, aged about four, have been cancelled.

The tent became Bear Cave based on popular book Going On A Bear Hunt in the hands of teacher Fiona McKenzie. Small groups of Reception children would wear their backpacks and walk around the school grounds to the ‘cave’. Cushions and a teddy bear added to the fun.

But school premises manager John Lippitt said: “Some of the children are not going to be able to do that and they are disappointed.”

Anyone who knows where the tent is should call 01243 820511.
