POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a bus driver was spat on in High Street, Bognor Regis, at around 10.30am on Thursday February 11.

The victim, a 35-year-old man from Yapton, was travelling west towards the junction with Queensway and West Street when he saw a silver Toyota Avensis heading towards the bus on the wrong side of the road.

The bus driver stopped and as the two vehicles passed, the suspect spat in his face before driving off.

He is described as white, aged between 40-50 years of age with a shaved head and of medium build.

PC Jill Stevens said: “We would like to hear from any passengers on the bus and anyone who was in High Street at the time.
