Bognor Regis man in court on indecent images charges

A BOGNOR Regis man is set to appear in court charged with offences relating to indecent images of children.

Mark Gary Matthews, 32, currently of The Queensway, but formerly of Laurel Grove is due to appear on bail at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on May 7.

He is charged with making two indecent images of children, contrary to the Protection of Children Act, and with failing to disclose his computer password, contrary to the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act.

The charges, authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service, follow an intelligence-led investigation by the Paedophile On-Line Investigation Team (POLIT) of Sussex Police.

Detective Constable Chris Smith of POLIT said: “The investigation continues.

“Anyone who has information about any alleged offending involving children, either current or historic, can contact us, in confidence, via 101. You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111.”
