POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man and a woman were assaulted in a Bognor Regis beauty spot.
The incident happened between 3.30pm and 4pm on New Year’s Day as the victims sat close to the children’s area in Hotham Park.
A police spokesperson said: “Fortunately the victims weren’t seriously injured but this was an assault and we are appealing to anyone who saw what happened to come forward.
“Police have arrested two men, aged 22 and 51, on suspicion of assault, and they are currently in police custody.
“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting serial 1485 of 01/01.”
