PARISH council chairman Paul English has welcomed the start of road works around Felpham.
Cllr English said he was pleased that the highways repairs were finally scheduled to take place yesterday.
West Sussex County Council were due to make good the badly worn out sections of Vicarage Lane and Blake’s Road.
He believed similar works would be carried out along Upper Bognor Road and Felpham Road later this month.
“This is another good example of the parish council as a whole working for the people of Felpham,” he said.
The start of the repairs followed several weeks of discussions between the parish council and the county council’s highways department.
The county council has been carrying out a comprehensive series of repairs across the county to make good the damage to surfaces caused by the severe winter weather and the excessive rain of the past year.
