CONDITIONS on a new out of town retail space in Bognor Regis have been set.
At their meeting last Wednesday members of Arun District Council’s development and control committee agreed on the restrictions to be placed on the space in Oldlands Way, off the A29.
As previously reported in the Observer, at their meeting last month members went against officers’ recommendations and agreed to allow the change of use of the 36,000-sq ft warehouse from industrial to retail in the hope it would result in 45 jobs.
The conditions mean any occupier of the retail premises will only be able to sell certain goods.
These would be DIY supplies, electrical goods, gardening requirements, floor coverings, household hardware, furniture and car accessories.
The new store would also only be allowed to be open from 7am to 11pm, Monday to Saturday, and it would have to comply with Sunday trading hours.
The development of the site has to start within three years of the date of permission.
The conditions were agreed with no comment from members.
