A CHARITY Christmas concert in Felpham raised £800 to help families.

The event by Arun District Council’s chairman Terence Chapman was held in aid of Home-Start Arun.

This is his chosen charity for his year in office. He told those present of the great help delivered to families in the district by Home-Start Arun.

He said: “I am delighted that the evening, which was so well organised and delivered, enabled us to raise a considerable amount of money for Home-Start Arun as well as affording an enjoyable evening as many guests have commented.”

The concert took place at St Mary’s Centre and the neighbouring St Mary the Virgin Church.

Guests were entertained by the Edwin James Festival Choir and the St Mary the Virgin Church Choir.

The evening began with a musical adaptation of the nativity story in the centre with an original arrangement of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Guests were escored to the church for a traditional carol service.
