Staff at Claremont Lodge in Fontwell have taken a cold water challenge for Comic Relief.

Following the successful ice bucket challenge for MND three years ago, a brave team of seven staff from all across all departments came forward for the fundraising event yesterday.

Buckets of cold water were ready in the garden and residents watched and heckled as they were poured over the team members.

Manager Roma Wood then sat in the middle of the dining room throughout the hour-long lunch period, with her legs in a bucket of baked beans.

Laura White, activities co-ordinator, said: “We gave our residents a good laugh at our expense.”

The care home raised approximately £200 and still has a collection bucket in reception.
