Chichester cyclist, 21, attacked by gang of men

A 21-YEAR-OLD Chichester cyclist was last night attacked by a gang of men, in what police called an ‘unprovoked assault’.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault on the 21-year-old man who was attacked in Green Lane, next to the A259 at Chichester, last night 
(Thursday, April 30).

Police said the victim was riding a pedal cycle and was assaulted by three or four men at around 9pm.

The suspects are all believed to be white men aged between 20-30 years.

A police spokesman said: “One in particular is described as being 5’10”, of slim build and with brown hair. He was wearing a long black jacket.

“It is believed that a man and woman, both aged between 20-25 years, may have witnessed the incident. The victim was grazed but otherwise unhurt.”
