Many got in touch with the Observer last week to pay tribute to the man who was the ‘heart and soul’ of Bognor.

Tributes have continued Julie Burden said she was shocked and saddened to hear of Ian’s death.

She said: “I’d known him for 38 years, since way back in the 1970’s when I lived in Bognor. Our friendship had drifted a bit, but we were recently reacquainted when he gave me support and kindness over the death of my long term partner. Whom he was instrumental in getting the two of us together.”

The funeral service will take place in the ballroom at Riverside Caravan Park, Shripney Road off the A29. This will start at 4pm and will be followed by a private cremation. All of Ian’s friends will be welcomed.
