YORKSHIRE Building Society is launching its Small Change Big Difference week on Monday, with £100,000 to give away.

People in Bognor Regis will have the chance to have their say on where some of the money goes by nominating charities and good causes.

The fund is made up of small change donated to the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation by members.

Colleagues at the society’s agency, Allfield Financial Services, in Chichester Road, Bognor Regis, are hoping residents will pay them a visit to nominate charities and good causes in the community to receive a share of the huge donation.

All nominations received by Saturday, August 22, will then be considered by the charitable foundation’s trustees to receive a £100 share of the £100,000 giveaway.

Jane Taylor-Davies, national agency manager at Yorkshire Building Society, said: “We’re all really excited to be taking part in this year’s Small Change Big Difference Week and our local agency in Bognor Regis can’t wait to hand over donations to successful charities and good causes in the community.

“This campaign is a perfect opportunity to help some of the smaller causes that can often be overlooked for donations and to whom £100 can go a long way.

“I really hope local people will take a minute to pop in to our local agency, nominate their chosen charity and support a cause close to their heart.”

More than three quarters of a million accounts contribute to the scheme, in which the pence in interest is donated to the charitable foundation, so the cash can assist smaller charities and good causes around the UK.

In 2014, the charitable foundation made 2,189 donations to good causes and charities in the UK, totalling £464,000.
