Cash boost is given to local causes

CHARITIES in the Bognor Regis area have grabbed their share of a £400,000 cash windfall.

The Sussex Community Foundation has announced its latest grants awards with £414,538.75 going to more than 80 Sussex charities and community groups – with local groups taking a share of the funds.

Mary Carruthers, the foundation’s programmes manager said: “Once again, we’re delighted to bring together our generous Sussex donors and the groups that need their funding.

“It’s the largest amount we’ve given in one grants round and these grants will mean a huge amount to the groups that receive them.”

Among those benefiting was Bognor CAN (Community Action Network) which received £2,048, and The Number 18 Project which gained £4,709. Dizzy was also able to gain a grant of some £500.

The next deadline for grant applications is January 10.
