UK firsts for town’s latest fast food venue

The new McDonald's in Bognor Regis

The new McDonald's in Bognor Regis

The UK’s first two-storey drive-through fast food premises has opened in Bognor Regis.

The town’s second McDonald’s has opened on Steyning Way alongside the A29 Shripney Road today (Tuesday, January 8).

Its staff have also become some of the first in the country to wear a new uniform designed by Wayne Hemingway.

The uniform was first worn by staff in London during last year’s Olympics.

Workers in the new restaurant have the chance to study for English and maths GCSE equivalent qualifications through the chain’s modern apprenticeship programme.

The new premises combine a drive-through operation with room for 115 customers over two floors.
