Bognor Regis firms chosen as best in the district

Companies around Bognor Regis were crowned as award winners for being the best in the district.

The firms scooped some of the top prizes in this year’s Arun Business Partnership Awards.

The biggest winners on the night were the Elsmere family behind Woods Travel.

The Aldwick Road firm picked up three key awards, including company of the year, at the ceremony held in the Butlin’s conference centre last Thursday.

Tina Shaw-Morton, a director at Woods Travel, was ecstatic the firm had triumphed. She dedicated its success to the overall hard work of its team.

She said: “I am speechless - I didn’t expect we’d get business of the year.

“It has been a good year for us as a company, which has been shown by the number of customers we have had – many of whom are doing repeat business with us, which has been fantastic.

“To have won the customer service award was really pleasing, as that’s the main reason we are still here, continuing to grow and keeping on improving.”

Fellow director Kristy Elsmere added she was ‘incredibly proud’ to have won three awards in a particularly tough year in the tourism industry.

Another big winner was Littlehampton’s Mark Northeast, of Funky Lunch, with its fun and healthy children’s sandwiches which have gained UK-wide fame.

There were 19 categories in the awards to make the evening, backed by Arun District Council, memorable.

Richard McMann, of the Arun Business Partnership, said: “It’s my pleasure to be involved seeing 300 companies again for these awards, which have shown the great quality and diversity of our businesses.”
