Bognor Regis businesses asked for wish list of town improvements

Town centre businesses in Bognor Regis are being given the chance to compose an improvement wish list.

The Qa Research, commissioned jointly by Bognor Regis Town Council and Arun District Council, will undertake a survey of town-centre companies to understand their priorities and ambitions.

Norman Dingemans, Arun’s cabinet member for economic and cultural development said: “There is a lot of exciting change proposed for Bognor Regis and it’s important that we keep the dialogue open and flowing with local businesses.”

The views are being gathered so that funding secured from developers as part of the multi-million-pound regeneration proposals can be spent on what businesses feel is necessary.

This includes money from the Sainsbury’s development of the former Lec site which has been earmarked specifically for the town centre.

Interviewers will be visiting businesses for around two to three weeks from the start of this month to ask individuals to take part.

Adam Cunard, chairman of Bognor Regis Town Council’s policy and resources committee, said: “Any project which helps our local businesses to improve their market share and raises the profile of the Bognor Regis retail offer is welcomed by the town council.”

The results of the survey will be added to other ideas generated by both the public and district and town councillors and will help influence how £250,000 secured from the Sainsbury’s development on the former Lec site should be spent to best effect.

It will also provide the councils with a steer about how best to support local businesses.

Any town centre businesses can register their interest by emailing Bognor.Survey@qaresearch.co.uk or by speaking to an interviewer at Qa on 0800 980 9030.
