Bognor Morrisons talks to be held

A FURTHER meeting is to be held about the future of Morrisons in Bognor Regis.

The latest get-together will feature three senior Arun District Council officers and representatives from the retailer.

The aim of the talks - within two weeks - will be to find out the company’s plans about its Bedford Street store.

It gained planning approval in April 2012 to almost double the size of the outlet by building a two-storey store on its current car park. But there has been no sign of any building work.

Anthony Everitt, Arun’s senior economic development officer, told the council’s Bognor Regis sub-committee on Monday: “We have been supportive of what Morrisons is trying to do.

“We are having a meeting to quiz them about when exactly they are going to be doing something.”

Mr Everitt will be joined at the meeting by Nigel Lynn and Karl Roberts.
