Bogus caller targets vulnerable Bersted victim

BOGUS caller steals cash from vulnerable elderly victim in Bersted.

The disabled man, who lives in Bersted Green Court, Hazel Road, was targeted by a thief under the guise of selling cleaning cloths, calendars and other items door-to-door.

Two men are believed to be involved in this particular incident which took place on September 24.

One is described as being white, approximately 6ft 2ins, with short dark hair and clean shaven.

He was carrying a large black bag. The man is alleged to have stolen cash from the victim.

Elderly or vulnerable residents are warned not to answer the door to cold callers and not to purchase items from people selling door-to door as they may put themselves at risk of theft or burglary.
