THERE were plenty of smiles after centre was officially declared open after major investment.

The grand reopening of Kwik Fit in Bognor Regis and taken place after the company has made a significant investment in the centre, which has been fully refurbished from the garage floor up.

It was up to Bognor Regis town mayor Tony Gardiner, and Bersted Parish Council’s chairman, Brian Knight, to meet the team at the Southern Cross branch and officially declare the centre open to the public.

Cllr Knight said: “The investment that the new owners of Kwik Fit have poured into the local centre is very good news for Bognor Regis and its motorists.

“The town is very fortunate that the company selected the Southern Cross branch for refurbishment with all the latest technology and equipment over hundreds of others.”

The Bognor centre was chosen for this investment from Kwik Fit’s UK network of over 600 centres because of the commitment the staff have made in serving the local community. The centre manager said: “It’s given the staff a real boost that our hard work has been recognised, and that our centre has been given major investment.

“All the team at Southern Cross take great pride in our work and now we have a working environment that matches our ambition to deliver the best possible service.

“It’s also good news for the community because we are now armed with top of the range equipment that will allow us to serve our customers even better than before. ”

Customers will immediately see the impact of the investment as the reception area has been completely redesigned .

But it’s not just the centre, machines and tools that Kwik Fit has invested in. The company are looking to take on 150 apprentices this year.

Cllr Gardiner said: “It’s commendable that there’s an apprenticeship scheme in place to give unemployed young people a helping hand by creating jobs and giving them some valuable career skills. I hope young people in Bognor Regis will see the benefit and apply for the programme.”
