Bognor Regis woman faces 10,000ft charity jump

A BOGNOR Regis woman will take a leap of faith to raise cash for charity.

Mrs Tovell will be plunging 10,000ft to collect funds and raise awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The 64-year-old, who works in the Shripney Road Tesco supermarket, is due to complete her tandem skydive on Saturday (February 25) in Headcorn, Maidstone.

“I just saw the poster up in the canteen at work and decided to give it a go,” she said.

“I thought I may as well go for it.

“I really hope I will be able to raise at least £500 and anything over that would be fantastic. It is such a worthwhile cause.”

Mrs Tovell, who has worked for Tesco for some 23 years, admitted the nerves were beginning to set in.

“I didn’t really think about it at first. I am excited, but I am starting to get a little bit nervous now,” she said.
