FORGET the doggy biscuits, pooches in Bognor Regis can enjoy a much more refreshing snack.

Ice creams – especially for man’s best friend – are now available at a seafront outlet.

The cooling treats have already proved a hit at the Prom Pitstop Kiosk, on the Esplanade.

Manager Kenton Batley said: “I am really surprised at how popular the ice-cream has been.

“To be honest when the kiosk owner, Alan McTernan, told me he was planning to stock it, I thought it was a strange idea. But I was wrong, and it has worked really well.”

The ice-cream costs £3 a tub and is apple, banana and carrot flavoured.

One dog who certainly enjoys the odd scoop is owner Alan’s Labrador, Bernie: “We have had dogs of all different breeds enjoying the ice cream and Bernie really seems to love it,” said Kenton.
