Bognor charity shop appeals for extra helpers

HELPING hands are needed at a Bognor Regis charity shop.

The leading veterinary charity PDSA is appealing for animal lovers to lend a paw and volunteer at its Bognor store to help raise vital funds for sick and injured pets.

Shop manager Pauline Cheeseman said: “We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about pets and who can lend a hand at Bognor Regis PDSA store.

“Volunteering for PDSA is fun and the skills you learn look great on any CV, plus you get to meet new people and make some friends along the way.

“No previous retail experience is needed, as full training is provided for all new volunteers.”

Charlotte Basford, who has a ten-year-old tabby cat called Sadie, is a volunteer at the Sudley Road store.

“I started volunteering for PDSA just over a year ago, I like animals and helping them to get well is a great thing to do and it helps their owners too.

“The best part about working for PDSA is the people, especially my manager Pauline, who helped me get to grips with everything I needed to learn and our customers are lovely too. Volunteering has helped me overcome my shyness,” said the 19-year-old.
