BLOOD donors in Bognor Regis have been thanked for their commitment in saving up to 750 lives.
The three selfless individuals were honoured with crystal awards by NHS Blood and Transplant for their loyalty.
Bognor resident Jeffrey Johnston received an award for giving blood 100 times.
Virginia Thompson, also of Bognor, was given an award for her 75 donations.
Robin Walker, of Aldwick, also received the 75th donation award.
Miss Thompson, who volunteers for Brent Lodge Rescue Centre re-homing hedgehogs, said: “I have continued giving blood so many times as I have been aware of the continued need.
“One hour, three times a year, is no problem for me. It’s so easy and worthwhile.”
The award ceremony took place at the Grand Hotel in Brighton.
John Canning, the lead donor relations manager for NHS Blood and Transplant in Sussex, said: “These donors are an inspiration to us all.
“Ceremonies like this allow us to say a massive thank you to all the donors that take time out of their busy lives to do something to save lives on a regular basis.”
Each blood donation can potentially save the lives of up to three people.
Just one per cent of the population reach 100 donations.
