Bigger reward offered in bid to track down man after Barnham burglaries

A POLICE reward offered in a bid to track down a man wanted for interview in connection with burglaries in Barnham has been upped.

Sussex Police has increased its reward to £2,500 in an attempt to find 38-year old Simon Peter Knights, wanted for interview in relation to several house burglaries. Officers believe he is travelling by train along the South Coast and London to Brighton routes.

They want to speak to him about four burglaries and one attempted burglary at addresses in the village, during the day on June 16.

Two addresses in Downview Road, one in Elm Grove and one in Barnham Road were broken into and jewellery was taken.

An unsuccessful attempt was made to enter another Barnham Road address.

Knights is described as white, about 5ft 8ins, and has ginger hair and blue eyes.

Officers are also making enquiries in East Sussex and in Essex, where Knights is known to have connections.

The reward is offered subject to arrest and conviction for one or more of the offences.
