ONLOOKERS could have been forgiven for thinking they’d stepped back in time when a group of 1950s-inspired bathing belles took to Felpham beach.
The girls, newcomers to an all-female fitness competition and beauty pageant Miss Galaxy Universe, were invited by show organiser and local personal trainer Jacqueline Hooton.
Jacqueline said: “The girls are all confident when it comes to the fitness element of our competition as they train to a high standard, however most of them find the stage posing rounds in bikinis daunting.
“Although they all have fantastic physiques from training hard and eating a healthy diet, they are more at home in Lycra and trainers than bikinis and heels.”
With this in mind Jacqueline, and show founder Sarah Donohue, invited the girls to Felpham to gain confidence and practice their bikini-posing skills on the beach.
The day’s 1950s theme added some fun and gave the girls an opportunity to get to know one another, as well as gaining advice on all aspects of stage presentation, including make-up and hair, as well as flattering poses to accentuate their physiques.
Miss Galaxy Universe will take place at The Hawth Theatre in Crawley on October 26.
